Jerry Don Anderson was born on June 8, 1944 to the late Leon and Cathrine (Winton) Anderson in Lubbock.

In 1965, Jerry entered the US Army serving during the Vietnam War.

On January 22, 1976, he married Madgelene "Madge" Lamberson. Jerry worked as a Sign Supervisor for TxDot, retiring after thirty years.

Jerry was a 32nd degree Mason and a Shriner. He was a member of Masonic Lodge No. 1327.

Jerry is survived by his loving wife, Madge Anderson, his three children, Vernon Whipple, Jr., Melody Smith and Deborah Whipple, nine grandchildren, eleven great-grandchildren, his sister, Melba, three nephews, Doug Bryant, Randy Anderson and Kyle Anderson and a niece, Tammy Hamersley, along with numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.
