Johnny J. Elliott, age 77 of Decherd, passed away Saturday, December 31, 2016 at his residence surrounded by his loving family.

Mr. Elliott was born on February 4, 1939 to the Wyatt Elliott and Annie Aline Sanders in Estill Fork, AL. He served in the United States Army and retired from B.F. Goodrich after 29 years. Mr. Elliott enjoyed gardening, mowing, fishing, and loved feeding and watching the animals.

He is preceded in death by his parents, a brother, Ray Elliott; and daughter, Teresa Elliott.

He leaves behind to cherish his memories a beloved wife of 53 years, Carrie Elliott; daughters, Mable (Bruce) Curtis and Denise Clark; son, Jonathan (Frances) Elliott and favorite son, Calvin Eliott; grandchildren, James, Joey, and Jesma Curtis, Candice, Aaron, and Colton Clark, Alex Elliott, Chelsea Franklin, Ashley, Katie, and Chelsea Elliott; great grandchildren, Sheldon Markwell, Scylar Clark, Maddie Mae Clark, Annalynne Clark, Caselyn Clark, and Carter Campbell; siblings, Daisy Musser, Robert Elliott, Billy Elliott, Louise Benson, and Bobby (Susan) Elliott; and a buddy and best friend, Rebel Elliott.

Visitation with the family will be Monday, January 2, 2017 from 5-8 pm at Moore-Cortner Funeral Home. The funeral service will be Tuesday, January 3, 2017 at 11am from the chapel of Moore-Cortner Funeral Home with Bro. Richard Reed officiating. Interment will follow at Crawford Cemetery in Estill Fork, AL.
