Preston Smith Wright
WRIGHT, Rev. Preston Smith ('Doc') - Age 84, former Pastor of Bible Fellowship Church, 6401 W. Coldwater Rd., Flushing, MI, past resident of Flushing and current resident of Crestmont Nursing Home in Fenton, MI. He was born March 22, 1918 in North Star, MI. He went to be with his Jesus, his Lord, his Savior and his Friend on December 30, 2002 at Genesys Hospital. He is finally getting to walk on the streets of purest gold, see the walls of living jasper, view the river of life, hear the angel choir sing glorious praises to the King of Kings and personally shout the praises of his Lord, while wearing his crown of many jewels and all for more than a brief visit. He also now gets to see and hug his Momma, whom he missed and longed to see for years and to be with his son, James D. Stowers who preceded him in death just 6 months ago. Rejoice in peace Dad, shout till your voice is hoarse, praise God to your fullest and enjoy your mansion on the hill top, you deserve it. We love you, but will miss you here on earth. Someday we'll all be together again over there. He was the sixth of thirteen children, 4 boys and 9 girls. His father was Thomas Asbury Wright and mother, Ina Adelia Wright of North Star, MI. He was also preceded in death by his father, 7 sisters and 3 brothers. He leaves behind to cherish his memory: wife, Gladys M. Wright of Flushing; 3 daughters and 2 sons, Tamera L. Garrison of Grand Blanc, Deborah L. and Michael Russell of Nashville, TN, Lisa M. and Douglas Stearns of Flushing, Timothy A. and Carol Wright of Burlington, KY and Jeffrey A. and Dena Wright of Cedar Springs, MI; 11 grandchildren, Kim and Tim Toporek, Heidi and Jim Molyneux, Michelle and Tom Malin, Stephen and Amy Wright, Matthew Wright, Nathan Wright, Shane Brown, Zachary Stowers, Katie Wright, Holly Williams and Sarah Wright; 6 great-grandchildren, Jessica and Joey Toporek, Faith, Lauren, Megan and Maia Molyneux; 2 sisters, Neva Barnes of Alma, MI and Arla Currier of Rural Sumner, MI; several nieces and nephews; a very special friend, Dorothy Bellinger of Swartz Creek, MI. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 4-8PM today and on Thursday from 11AM until service time. Funeral services will be 1PM Thursday, January 2, 2003 at Sharp Funeral Home & Cremation Center, 6063 Fenton Rd. (just south of Hill Rd.). Pastor Robert Leming of Montrose Christian Faith Church will officiate. Burial will be close to his 'Saint' of a mother, in North Star Cemetery, North Star, MI, off US-27 Immediately following the service. Rest in peace, Dad, and rejoice in your wonderful, marvelous heaven with our Jesus. I love you very much and will miss you Papa.
