Jerry D. Guinn, 88, of Saint Joseph, MO, passed away December 28, 2016 surrounded by his family.
He was born to F.L. (Bill) and Neva Guinn in Clarksdale, MO, on November 29, 1928. He proudly served in the US Navy after graduating from Clarksdale High School. He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Alice (Steele) Guinn. Jerry retired as a Regional Sales Manager from the Jimmy Dean Sausage Company.
One of Jerry’s favorite hobbies was restoring antique cars, one especially, a 1931 Chevy. He was also an avid NASCAR fan.
He was preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Betty (McClanahan) Guinn and Janet Shaw; nephew, William Blodgett.
Jerry is survived by three children, Dean (Dodie) Guinn, Don Guinn and Dianne Guinn (Narburgh) all of Saint Joseph; grandchildren, Alicia Bunton of Saint Joseph, Cameron (Icela) Narburgh of Colorado Springs, CO, and Carlysle Narburgh of Fayetteville, NC; great-granddaughter, Kali Bunton; niece, Suzann (Gerald) Odette of Saint Joseph.
The family wishes to thank Mosaic Hospice and Comfort of Home for their outstanding care and support during his illness.
He will be dearly missed by extended family and friends.
Farewell Services 1:00 P.M. Tuesday, Meierhoffer Funeral Home & Crematory. Interment Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will gather with friends one hour prior to service, Meierhoffer Funeral Home & Crematory.
