Christy G. Hoffman, age 64, Hebron, Indiana, passed away peacefully on Friday, December 30, 2016 at her home. She was born on April 24, 1952 in Rensselaer, IN to Eugene Belstra and Rita Bailey Belstra. On December 18, 1971, she married Ronald Hoffman who survives. She is also survived by her daughter, Andrea Shayne (Ryan), son, Aaron (Katie); seven grandchildren: Jae (Hope), Heaven, Brett, Ewan, Nathan, Myah and Hadley; great grandchild, Raelynn; her mother, Rita, and siblings: Mitch (Vicki), Kerry, Connie (Gary), Jody (Roger), and Heidi (Gary). She was preceded in death by son, Jeremy Hoffman in 2007, and father, Eugene Belstra.
Christy was a member of the First Baptist Church in Lowell, where she was the organist for many years. She loved participating in her quilting group, "Sisters in Stitches," and enjoyed basket making. She was a hard-working farm wife who proudly worked alongside her husband, Ron, for many years. She was a fun-loving grandma who loved her grandchildren with all her heart.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, January 4, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. at First Baptist Church in Lowell, 333 Mill Street, Lowell, Indiana 46356 with her brother-in-law, Pastor David Hoffman officiating. Burial will follow at Plum Grove Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, January 3, 2017 from 2:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at the First Baptist Church of Lowell. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of the Calumet Area, 600 Superior Avenue Munster, IN 46321 or to the Hoffman Children Educational Trust.
