Gratuate of Lockport High School, Know as "Tony" or "Doc" Mr. Espostio was a star football player in high school and a member of the Western New York first team in 1937. He declined a full scholaship to Canisius College in order to help support his family during the Great Depression. Drafted into the Army in 1943, he was a sergeant serving with the 240th Engineers in the Pacific unit untill the end of te World War II. It was two years before he saw his first child, born while he was serving in the Phillippines. In the summer of 1942 he married the former Mary Cappola and they lived in Lockport before moving to Buffalo in the early 1950's.
