Beverly Sue Bev Higgins, 69, of Mount Carmel, IL went to be with her Lord & Savior on Friday, December 30, 2016 at Deaconess Hospital in Evansville, IN with her loving family by her side. Bev was born on June 16, 1947 in Edwards County, Il the daughter of Merrel J. and Lucille (Marx) Strine. Bev married Charles Higgins on September 17, 1970 in Olney, IL and he preceded her in death on September 9, 2005.
Bev was a loving mother, grandmother, sweet and faithful friend to many. She spent her time ministering from home by sharing uplifting words and scriptures and friendly phone calls. The only One she loved more than her children and grandchildren was Jesus.
She enjoyed reading, studying God’s Word and watching her grandchildren grow up. Bev was a devoted Christian who grew up in the faith and regularly attended First Baptist Church in Mount Carmel. She will be greatly missed by her family and all who knew her.
Bev will be remembered by her four daughters, Diane (Shane) Whetstone of Mount Carmel, Donna (Kevin) Cundiff of Mount Carmel, Denise (Alex) Grayes of Franklin, TN and Debra Higgins of Orlando, FL; six dearly loved grandchildren, Nicholas Whetstone, Michael Critchfield, Jacob Whetstone, Christopher Whetstone, Alexandra Grayes and Elizabeth Grayes; brothers, William (Kathy) Strine and James (Kelley) Strine both of West Salem; sister, Joanne (Bruce) Stikkers of St. Joseph, IL; two especially dear cousins, Jerry and Dan Strine; one special aunt, Carole Biehl; many other cousins, nieces and nephews.
Bev was preceded in death by her parents; and husband, Charles Higgins.
