Robert Paul Lantz, 84, of Goshen, passed away December 30, 2016,at IU Health University Hospital, Indianapolis after being diagnosed five weeks ago with Myasthenia Gravis.

He was born January 31, 1932 in Sturgis, Michigan to Paul and Roberta (Bontrager) Lantz.

On November 22, 1985 he married Gloria (Light) Vincent in Goshen.

She survives along with two daughters, Judy (Mike) Heath and Annette (Paul) Lantz Simmons, both of Kansas City, Missouri; a son, Jon (Kim) Lantz of Houston, Texas; two stepdaughters, Kelly (Jeff) Lorenz of New Paris and Heather, (Sean Kane) Vincent of Guelph, Ontario; five grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; a sister, Ann Miller of Greensboro, North Carolina and a brother, Ray Lantz of Middlebury.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Mr. Lantz earned a bachelor’s degree from Goshen College and a master’s degree from Willamette University, Oregon.

A 34 year area resident, Mr. Lantz was a brick mason, specializing in brick restoration. While living in Oregon he taught voice in schools and the Mennonite church.

Locally he was a member of St. Mary’s Orthodox Church and sang bass with the Goshen Community Chorale.
