Fred M Turner, age 71, died peacefully on Tuesday, December 27, 2016 at the Franciscan Hospice House in University Place, Washington surrounded by loved ones.

Fred was born on July 8, 1945 in Fillmore, Utah, raised in Holden, Utah and considered St. George, Utah to be his “home”. He served an LDS mission in the North Central States Mission and graduated from Weber State College with a Bachelor of Science in 1970. He worked as a city planning director for most of his career and was also a volunteer firefighter. He loved sports, fishing, movies & popcorn, good food, and his family. He lived a selfless life, always providing for others before considering his own needs.

He is survived by his wife of 30 years Loni D (Stubbs) Turner; his five sons Larry Turner, Christopher Turner, Keith Turner, Eric Turner, and Andrew Turner; his two daughters Lynda Day and Tasha McCurdy; his 14 grandchildren, Paeyton, Tinlei, Caylor, Wesley, Gwendolyn, Evelyn, Aubrey, Olsen, Noah, Liberty, Jacob, Cosette, Chloe, and Jayson; his older sister Evelyn Hartley and his older brother Clint Turner. He is preceded in death by his parents Ward Wells Turner and Roma McKee, both of Holden Utah, and his first wife Jo Edda Turner.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, January 4, 2017 at 11:00 am at Hughes Mortuary, 1037 E. 700 South, St. George, Utah. Visitation will be Tuesday, January 3, 2017 from 6:30 pm - 8:00 pm and again Wednesday morning from 10:00 am - 10:45 am. Interment will follow in Tonaquint Cemetery
