Jimmie R. Cole, 76, Marion, lost his battle with cancer at 9:22 a.m. on Friday, December 30, 2016 in his home surrounded by his loving family.
He was born on November 28, 1940 to the late Milt and Effie Cole and attended school in Sweetser. Jimmie married Linda Rheam, his wife of 29 years. She preceded him in death in 2005. He was also preceded in death by a brother, Bill Cole, and sister, Betty Stone.
Jimmie is survived by a brother, Dennis (Nancy) Cole; daughters, Tammy Moisan, Debra Collins, Peggy (Keith) Kellogg; sons, Walter (Cathy) Collins, and Ronnie (Tammy) Collins; 13 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren and one on the way; and several nieces and nephews.
Jimmie was a proud veteran of the U.S. Marine Corp. He worked 25 years for the C & O Railroad. Jimmie was an avid fisherman and could out fish anyone. He enjoyed family gatherings, playing Bingo, mushroom hunting and loved watching his Colts and Pacers. Jimmie had the most loving heart and soul. He will be deeply missed. Semper FI.
The family will receive visitors from 10:30 a.m. – 12:30 pm on Thursday, January 5, 2016 at Integrity Funeral Care, 2901 S. Washington St., Marion, Indiana. The service will begin at 12:30 immediately following visitation with Pastor John Morgan officiating. Burial will be in the Marion National Cemetery.
