Services: 12 p.m., Wednesday, at St. Jude Catholic Church by the Rev. Mark Reasoner. Burial: Mt. Calvary Cemetery. Friends may visit with the family on Tuesday at Teahen Funeral Home from 4 to 8 p.m., and on Wednesday after 11:30 a.m., at the church.
Ken is survived by his three daughters, Courtney Brewer and Corinne (Stephen) Krzywicki, both of Cedar Rapids, and Kayte Volz (Will Stone) of Maricopa, AZ; six grandchildren, Olivia, Maddie, Lauren, Hannah, Alex “Bubs” and Charlotte “Charley”; his parents, Catherine and Kenneth Volz, Sr., of Cedar Rapids; five sisters, Karen Volz (Lance Heeren), Sharon Volz, Mary (Michael) Hansen, and Ann Volz all of Cedar Rapids, and Sara (Rob) Keller, of Dubuque; a brother, John (Ellen) Volz, of Cedar Rapids; and many loving nieces and nephews.
Ken is preceded in death by his maternal and paternal grandparents and several aunts and uncles.
Ken was born on November 12, 1959 in Cedar Rapids the son of Kenneth and Catherine Holtz Volz. He attended LaSalle High School and was a member of St. Jude Catholic Church.
Ken married Cynthia Kay White on April 25, 1981. They were later divorced.
He was a mail carrier for the US Postal Service where he was employed for 37 years.
Ken loved his daughters and grandchildren with a passion. He enjoyed spending time fishing, working on crossword puzzles, and playing golf. He was a big fan of the Chicago Bears and Cubs and liked to watch television. Ken was a hard worker who knew lots of trivia, and was always on the hunt to find Big Foot.
