Volume 1 of Windsor, VT Vital Records, 1744-1866, pg. 138 in original records handwriting says very clearly he was born 2 Sep 1803, so the stone must be wrong as it was done most likely by his wife. He is the brother of Ammi Hamilton Hinckley, and of Mary Osborne Hinckley Hyde, his sister, and all 3 are children of Jared Hinckley, Jr. and Hopestill Brewster...."the remains of both [husband and wife] rest in Forest Park Cemetery," Pioneer History of Camden, Oneida County, New York page 462-463..."Supervisor of Camden 1839 and 1844-1845, postmaster at the time of his death, and in the mercantile business with his brother Ammi Hamilton Hinckley"

Corresponding Committee from Camden for the Whig Party in Oneida County, NY in 27 Sep 1842. Served on Board of Supervisors of Oneida County for Camden in 1843. He was the original Captain of the Camden Hose Co. No. 1 in 1841, sort of the beginning of a Fire Department.

Charles Hinckley was a half-brother the son of Joel Hinckley first husband of Hopestill Brewster. When Joel died she married his brother Jared.
