Fred R. Wade Jr., 82, of Pittsburg, passed away at 12:35 a.m., Tuesday, December 27, 2016, at the Via Christi Hospital, Pittsburg. He was born July 13, 1934, at Pittsburg, KS, the son of Fred and Lillie (Battaglia) Wade. He attended local schools and Pittsburg State University. Mr. Wade served in the United States Army Reserves. On July 21, 1956, he was united in marriage to Janell Edmonston at Pittsburg, KS. She survives of the home. Mr. Wade worked for Pitsco Education for the past 23 years. Prior to this he worked for McNally's Manufacturing as the head of spare parts for 33 years. Membership was held in the First Christian Church, Pittsburg. He was a board member of McNally's Credit Union. Mr. Wade loved to hunt, especially coon, and to fish. He was an avid Pittsburg State and Kansas City Royals fan. He had also coached softball for his daughter's teams. In addition to his wife, he is survived by two daughters, Lisa Wade of Pittsburg and Lori Wade of Pittsburg, one brother, Don Wade and his wife, Zelda of Springfield, MO, one sister, Linda Wade Harrison and her husband, Bob of Dallas, TX, one granddaughter and a star in his life, Hanna Wade of Pittsburg, three nieces, Holly Wade DeMarro, Gina Clary and Jennifer Selby, one nephew, Jay Wade, several great nieces and nephews, and two loving and dear friends, Steve Snider and Jim Pontinous. He is preceded in death by his parents. Mr. Wade has been cremated and no services are planned at this time. Friends may leave condolences online at www.brennermortuary.com.
