Reva Kellar

Reva Vergene Perry Kellar of Price Utah, formerly of Myton, Utah passed away peacefully on December 25, 2016 at the age of 84. She was born on July 31, 1932 to Loyal Remington Perry and Thora Ella Nielson in Roosevelt, Utah. She was the only girl out of five children and grew up on the South Myton bench where her father farmed. They would farm on the bench in the summer and winter in Salt Lake City. Reva graduated from Granite High School in 1950. Reva married John Peter Oreno on June 9, 1950. They had two children, John Perry and Janene Lori. They were later divorced. Reva married Paul "Tom" Revere Kellar on December 9, 1966. They had three children together, Lydia Marie, Charles Tate, and Kelari. Tom had four children from a previous marriage so between his, hers and ours they had nine children. Tom passed away on September 3, 2002. Reva and Tom had many adventures. She loved to go fishing with Tom and the kids. As he fished she looked for neat pieces of driftwood to collect. She was a collector of many things but her most treasured collection was her rock collection. She loved rocks and when she moved from Myton to Roosevelt she packed her rock collection with her, at one point she had so many rocks in the back of her station wagon that the tires almost rubbed the wheel wells. Reva was a very resourceful and thrifty lady. She was the queen of recycle and repurposing things, before it was cool to be so. She made foot stools out of juice cans and hats out of beer and pop cans. Many friends and family were blessed to be given one of her creations. Reva was a faithful member of the Roosevelt and Price Jehovah's Witness congregation. She loved Jehovah and enjoyed meeting new people and preaching about his kingdom to everyone she met. Reva loved her family dearly and spent many days doing what she could to help all of us, whether it was watching the grandkids, being by the bedside of someone sick or injured, or just enjoying a visit she showed us how much she loved us daily. She suffered from Alzheimer’s and even though her memories of us diminished, her smile when we came to see her was indication that she knew us and loved us. She is survived by her three daughters, Janene (John) Overgard, Lydia (Michael) Myers, and Kelari (Dale) Winterton, eight grandchildren and four great grandchildren; her brothers Merlyn (Karen) Perry and Duane (LaWella) Perry. She was preceded in death by her husband Tom, sons Perry and Tate, her mother and father and two brothers Jule Perry and Leonald Perry. At Reva's request her remains will be cremated. Funeral services will be held for her on January 5, 2017 at 11 am at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses, 168 South 200 West in Roosevelt, Utah. Burial will be at the Myton Cemetery. The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the staff at Heirloom Inn, Pinnacle Care and Rehabilitation, and Community Nursing Services in Price Utah for the care they provided to our mother, grandmother and sister.
