AMIRO, John Edward (Eddie) - 76, Surettes Island, Yarmouth County, died May 7, 1994, in Yarmouth Regional Hospital. Born on Surettes Island, he was a son of the late Frank and Rose Elise (Frotten) Amiro. He was a cook with the Canadian Armed Forces and on the scallop boats for a number of years. He was a veteran of the Second World War and a member of Surettes Island Senior Citizens Club. He is survived by his wife, the former Kathryn McEwan; son, John, Surettes Island; two brothers, John Peter, Trenton, Ont.; Clifford, Surettes Island; four sisters, Mary Blanche (Mrs. Noah Surette), Marie (Mrs. Gustave Surette), both of Surettes Island; Mrs. Janette Armstrong, Truro; Mrs. Helen Babin, West Pubnico; two grandchildren; a step-great-grandchild. He was predeceased by a sister, Beatrice. Visitation will be 10 a.m.-1 p.m. today in H.M. Huskilson's Funeral Home, Yarmouth. Funeral will be 2 p.m. today in St. Joseph's Church, Surettes Island, Rev. Libroire Amirault officiating. Burial will be in parish cemetery. Family flowers only. Donations may be made to the IWK Foundation.
