The youngest son of W.W. Hill and Agnes Downer. According to a report from "The Commonwealth", he died as the result of a gunshot wound. This occurred during a boundary dispute between his family and the Stuart family near Old Salem in Carroll County, MS.

He didn't die immediately. The death date is estimated based on various newspaper reports. His father and brother, John died immediately from gunshot wounds during the dispute on March 7, 1904.

It is believed his inscription is on the same tombstone that his brother and father share.
