Hazel was born March 21, 1919 in Winder, Idaho, the third of seven children of Louis and Dorothy Johnson. The family moved to Preston, ID, where Hazel attended school and graduated from Preston High School in May 1937.
That same year, Hazel met Ernest Fisher. Their courtship was short and they were married in the Logan, Utah, LDS Temple in November 1937. While living in Winder, ID, their first son, Gordon, was born in 1939, and a second son, Garth, was born in 1941.
In 1944, during Ernest's service in the Navy, Hazel moved with her young family to Boise and worked at the Cash Bazaar and C.C. Anderson's until he was discharged in 1946. Following his return, Hazel chose to stay home and raise her family. Their third child, daughter Judy, joined the family in 1947.
Hazel and Ernest were members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and held many positions in the church, especially enjoying their work in the Boise Temple.
Over the years they enjoyed vacations to many places, including Europe, Hawaii, and Mexico, and lots of family trips to McCall. After Ernest's retirement, both Hazel and Ernest learned to play golf and also bowled in several local leagues. These recreational activities with friends and family brought great joy to their lives.
Hazel was preceded in death by her husband, Ernest; parents; brothers: Theo, Dick (Zelda) and Ted Johnson; and sisters: Betty Farnworth and Joyce Seeley.
She is survived by a sister, Helen Taylor, of Boise; a daughter, Judy Crawford, of Boise; two sons: Gordon (Anne) and Garth (JoAnn) Fisher, both of Boise; one grandson, Garth Fisher, Jr. (Karen); two great-grandsons: Brandon and Shaun Fisher, of Kent, WA; two granddaughters: Heather Belliveau (Steve) and Deborrah Duncan, of Boise; four great-granddaughters: Jaclyn Belliveau, Justine (Brock) Burgess, Danielle Bodily, of Layton, UT, and Dacia Belliveau, of Seattle, WA; and five great-great-grandchildren.
