Karen Barber, 74, Americus, Kansas, passed away at the Emergency Department of Newman Regional Health, Emporia, on December 28, 2016.
The funeral service will be held at Roberts-Blue-Barnett Funeral Home, Emporia, on Tuesday, January 3, 2017 at 10:30 A.M. Interment will follow in Eskridge Cemetery, Eskridge, Kansas. The family will receive friends at the funeral home that morning, one hour before the service.
Karen was born June 11, 1942, the daughter of Ronald and Jennie (Dudney) Johnston.
Surviving members include three daughters, Joni Givens (Jeff), Neosho Rapids, Kansas, Jackie Gibb (Mike), Cottonwood Falls, Kansas, and Jamie Yingst (Calvin), Americus, Kansas; sixteen grandchildren; twenty-seven great-grandchildren; and sisters, Helen Kerns (Don), Judy Johnston (Laurie), Becky Johnston (Marty), Mary Johnston, Sheila Johnston, Brother; Ron (Kim) Johnston.
She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Richard, Bill, and Alan Johnston; and a sister, Diane DeForest.
Mrs. Barber worked for Dolly Madison Cakes from 1966 to her retirement in 2007.
