Denny Smith, 72, of Paragould, passed away Thursday, December 29, 2016, at his home.
Born October 26, 1944, in Bernie, Missouri, he was a retired house builder. Denny enjoyed singing and sang at many county fairs and all over. He was a member of the Fairview Baptist Church.
Survivors include two sons, David Smith (Linda) of Paragould, and Ronnie Smith (Tammy) of Jonesboro; one daughter, Debbie Fletcher of Paragould; one brother, Wendell Lee Smith of Bernie, Missouri; and one special niece, Janet Kidd (Jim) of Paragould. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Cassie Lamberth (Jeremy), Chris Smith (April), Cody Smith (Sarah), Montana Hall, Olivia Smith and Garret Brown; and great grandchildren, Rayce Delre, and Cyser Smith.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Elaine Smith; his parents, Otto and Viola Smith; two brothers, Bud Smith, and Larry Smith; and grandson, Derrick Smith.
Funeral service will be 1:00 p.m., Tuesday, January 3, 2017, at the Mitchell Funeral Home Chapel, Paragould with Dennis Strope officiating. Burial will follow in Greene County Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be Tuesday from 12:00 noon until service time.
Bobby Fletcher, Gene Hargraves, Terry Letson, Jerry Pentecost, John Smith and Shane Smith will serve as pallbearers.
Memorials to Arkansas Children’s Hospital or to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital would be appreciated.
