Don Edward Scott was born in Scottsbluff, Neb., on April 27, 1927 to Nettie and Jack Scott. He grew up in Torrington, the town he loved dearly, and graduated from Torrington High School.
He was a Veteran of World War II and served his country proudly in the Pacific Theatre.
He married Helen Gurney, of Yoder, Wyo., on Aug. 18, 1946.
He ran a successful privately-owned family business, “Don Scott Plumbing and Heating.” He also served the city of Torrington as a volunteer fire fighter for 30 years.
Mr. Scott was preceded in death by two sons, David E. Scott and Stephen D. Scott, his parents Nettie and Jack and a brother, Dick Scott.
He is survived by his wife Helen Scott of Torrington, three grandchildren, Brian Scott of Dallas, Texas, Kevin Scott of Sonoma, Calif., and Shawn Scott of Denver, Colo.
He is also survived by two great-grandchildren, Blake Scott and Lucas Scott, both of Sonoma, Calif.
