John Carr, father of Dabney Carr, member of the Virginia House of Burgesses (1772-73) and brother-in-law of Thomas Jefferson.
Grandfather of Dabney Carr II, Judge of the Virginia Supreme Court of Appeals, 1824-1837.

Son of Thomas Carr and Mary Dabney Carr.
Grandson of Sir Thomas Carr and Mary Garland Carr, Cornelius Dabney and Susannah West Dabney.
Great-grandson of Toby West ("Totopotomoy"), and Cockacoeske Powhatan, Queen of the Pamunkey, who was a grandniece of Pocahontas. Totopotomoy was the son of Pocahontas' cousin Rachel Powhatan and Thomas West, 3rd Baron de la Warr. Lord De la Warr was a grandson of Lady Catherine Carey, the daughter of Mary Boleyn, Mistress of King Henry VIII and sister of Queen Anne Boleyn.
