Thomas Whitten and his wife Mahitable were the parents of Alexander, Hartson, Hartwell, Thomas and Charles Whitten. During the war Mr. Whitten served the Union cause in the Missouri State Militia with his son Alexander. Both were taken prisoner at Lone Jack.
