Eva Courdahl Roholt Farris, 77, of Glenns Ferry, peacefully slept away at her home on Wednesday, July 24, 1996, after experiencing an extended illness.

She was born Oct. 4, 1918, in Thatcher, Idaho, the third daughter of Raymond and Olive Anderson Roholt. Eva's childhood was spent in Wendell, where she and her sisters spent many remembered times working on a farm. On April 9, 1940, she married Charles Richard Farris, her faithful companion for 56 years. She and her husband then moved to Glenns Ferry where they lived for 56 years. While in Glenns Ferry, Eva spent most of her life serving her family, community. and church.

Among her many distinguished achievements, Eva was very active with the local school and community. She was an avid and supportive fan of the Glenns Ferry Pilots and enjoyed expressing her enthusiasm for their every activity. She served on the PTA for 13 years, which included two terms as PTA president and earning the "PTA Life Membership' award. She also enjoyed serving the children as a school lunch cook for 12 years, She was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, and greatly loved and respected her religion. She was surpassingly involved with the Relief Society and served 13 consecutive years as Primary president.

She was a true aficionado and enthusiast for the outdoors. She spent many enjoyed times at the family cabin at Pine and Featherville and hosted hundreds of picnics and other social gatherings for family and friends. Though she had many interests and

regards, her true and most precious passion was for her beloved family. She devoted her life to the proper upbringing and education of her family. Eva was truly a devoted and loving mother, grandmother, companion, and friend to all. She was a proud citizen and resident of her country and state. Though she will be sorely missed, her love, manner, disposition, and example will live and be remembered for generations to come.

Survivors include her husband Charles R. Farris of Glenns Ferry, six children, Richard (Sondra) Farris of Farmington, Utah, Buz (Mary) Farris of Blackfoot, Gregory (Joan) Farris of Pocatello, Weston (Joyce) Farris of Glenns Ferry, Angee (Tim) Manning of Ogden Utah, and Charles (Lorie) Farris of Smithfield, Utah; 27 grandchildren eight great-grandchildren, whom she truly adored and delighted in and four sisters, Deeta Goold, Merle Craft, Margy Castellano, and Margene Seltzer. She was preceded in death by many loved one and friends including her parents, her brother, Boyce Roholt, and three sisters, Bernice Anderson, Myrna Wright, and Verla Winkler.

Services were held Saturday July 27, 1996, at the Glenns Ferry LDS Church. Burial was at Glenn Rest Cemetery, Glenns Ferry. Arrangements were under the direction of Summers Funeral Homes. McMurtrey Chapel, Mountain Home.
