Cemetery records indicate age at death as 57 years; however, NZ BDM index gives age as 59 years. Further, the death certificate for her husband (Louis Adams) states Mary's age at his death as 59 years.

All the records in New Zealand show Jessie's husband as Louis/Lewis. His death certificate shows he was born in Massachusetts, USA. His parents died prior to 1881 and he is recorded in the 1881 UK census as living with his grandparents (Frederick and Emma Adams) under the name 'Louis'. However, in December 1881 he was baptised with the name 'Lewis Frederick' a name which it appears he never used in New Zealand.
