Jerry Lee Sims, 71, passed away Wednesday morning, December 28, 2016, at his residence in Wills Point.

Jerry was born May 23, 1945, in Kansas City, Kansas, the son of William and Euline Dunagon Sims. He was raised in Duncanville, where he attended public school, but lived in Wills Point most of his life. Jerry was a veteran of the United States Army, having served during Vietnam. On March 13, 1970, he married Carol Ann Huff in Wills Point. Jerry was formerly employed by Metal Tech in Garland and retired from Terrell State Hospital in 2011. In his spare time, he enjoyed taking cars apart and building things. Jerry was of the Baptist faith.

Preceded in death by his parents, William and Euline Sims; wife, Carol Ann Sims on October 7, 2008 and a brother, David Sims.

Jerry is survived by a son, James Lee Sims & wife, Betty, of Wills Point; two daughters, Christina Nelson, of Wills Point and Sylba Bold & husband, Robert, of Granbury; sister, Eugina Jones, of Raleigh, North Carolina; seven grandchildren, Amanda Sims, James Lee Sims, Jr., Brianna Nelson, Zachary Nelson, Dakota White, Kirsten Manning and Tristin Manning and five great-grandchildren, Betty Sims, Jamieson Sims, Serenity Sims, Kristopher Wheeler and Ellia White.

Visitation service is scheduled for 3:00-5:00 p.m. Friday, December 30, 2016, at Allan Fuller Funeral Home Chapel in Wills Point.
