Funeral services for Helen Doris Williamson Shelton, 88, of Cairo, will be Saturday, December 31, 2016, at 2 p.m., at Whiddon-Shiver Funeral Home. Pastor Gary Holland will officiate. Interment will follow at Meigs Sunset Cemetery. Active casket bearers are Jason West, Elvis Key, Billy Garbett, Jr., Ronald Roberts, Tommy Benton, and Steve Trawick.
Mrs. Shelton passed away on Thursday, December 29, 2016 at her residence.
Born on December 9, 1928 in Mitchell County. Mrs. Shelton married the late J.W. Williamson.
A dolpher at Coats and Clarks in the Spinning Department, she was also a member of Meigs Baptist Church. Mrs. Shelton loved to fish, watch wrestling and Family Feud.
She is survived by daughter, Gloria West; grandchildren, Rachel Cooper (Rex); Tracy Martin (Jose Licona); Donna Huffmaster; Pam Garbett (Billy); Cory West (Temperence); Jason West (Rebecca); Dena Key (Elvis); great grandchildren, Marcus West, Aubrey Copper, Erica Skidmore, Joshua McEown, Crystal McEown, Steven McEown (Sara Kate), Lynwood Thompson, Lila West, Grayson West, Collis West, Callie West, Emmie West, Dewayne Key, Whitney Stanislawski; and a host of great-great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by great granddaughter, Brandie Martin, and son-in-law, Douglas West.
The family will receive friends on Friday, December 30, 2016, from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
