Velma Vern Jackson was born January 5th, 1894, in Goldendale, the fifth child of Rollo E. and Laura M. Jackson.
She passed away January 25th, 1949 in Portland, Oregon. She is survived by her husband, Nelsen B. Matsen, Sunnyside; a daughter, Betty Jean Taylor, of Prosser; a son, Richard Myles Matsen, of Bickleton; and four sisters, Louise J. Matsen and Edith J. Brandt, of Wapato, Effie J. Haynes of Pullman, Una J. Ward, of Portland; two brothers, Oran Jackson, of Portland, and R. Earl Jackson, of Home Valley; one grandchild, daughter of R. Miles Matsen.
Services were held Monday afternoon, February 28th, at the House of Holman, followed by vault entombment, near her parents, in Lincoln Memorial Mausoleum.
