She was born in Calhoun County, Alabama on April 21, 1916, the fifth child of Abbie Milton & Lula Pearl Cobb. Born and raised in the community of Choccolocca Alabama, she graduated from White Plains High School, was a lifelong resident of Anniston, Alabama, and faithful member of Weaver First United Methodist Church for over sixty years, leaving the area only after declining health prevented her from living independently. She was a devoted daughter, wife, mother, and grandmother who selflessly lived to serve others, often putting their needs above her own. She enjoyed being outside, doing activities such as pitching softball to her grandchildren, working in her vegetable and flower gardens, and taking nature walks through the woods. In addition to doing needlework, she was an excellent cook, and rarely turned down the opportunity to play a game of dominoes, which she often won.
