Robert Charles Landmann, 67, passed away December 23, 2016 surrounded by his family. Born May 3, 1949 in Stockton, CA, he is survived by his wife of 45 years, Diana, and his children. He is also survived by 4 grandchildren.
Robert is also survived by his brother, Michael Landmann and sisters, Susan (John) Dollberg and Cindy (Thomas) Retzius and nieces and nephews. Robert was preceded in death by his parents Walter 0. Landmann and Faye P. (Schintler) Landmann.
After graduation from Lincoln High School, he attended S. J. Delta College where he was on the wrestling team. Robert served for 3 years in the U.S. Army. While stationed in Wurzberg, Germany he and his wife became active in local volkmarches, touring much of Germany while participating in the walks. They enjoyed touring Europe during free time. Robert returned home to Stockton to complete his bachelor's degree at Stanislaus State University in Turlock. He was employed by the U. S. Postal Service and retired after 38 years. Robert served in the U. S. Air Force Reserves for 33 years and attained the rank of Senior Master Sergeant. Robert also served the 3 year old Sunday school class at First Baptist Church for 36 years. He refereed youth and high school football for 25 years. Robert also enjoyed running and participated in the Bay to Breakers and Wharf to Wharf races for over 25 years and was able to complete both races this year. Not one to play favorites he enjoyed the 49'ers, Raiders, Giants and Oakland A's, as well as the Stockton Ports.
