Donald B. Holley, age 69, of Peoria passed away early Monday, December 26, 2016, at home, surrounded by his loving family.Don was born Oct. 28, 1947, to Robertlee Holley and Jeannette Lacey Holley in Kankakee, IL. He married Dalelynn Trobaugh on May 25, 1984, in Peoria, IL.He is survived by his wife, Dalelynn; four children, Pamela Holley of Champaign, IL, Jeremy Holley of Washington, IL, Samuel Holley of Kirkland, WA, and Benjamin Holley of Peoria, IL; and four grandchildren. He is also survived by three brothers, Robert (Diane) Holley of Washington, IL, Barry Holley of Champaign, IL, and Bill (Linda) Holley of Frankfort, IL; as well as nieces, nephews, and many friends. Don was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Ann, in 1975; his father, Robertlee Holley, in 1983; his mother, Jeannette Lacey Holley, in December of 2016; his sister, Melissa Holley Varley, in 2007; and his brother-in-law, Tom Trobaugh, in November of 2016. He served in the National Guard in the 1970s and retired from OSF Healthcare Corp. in 2010.Don was a lifelong Cubs fan who enjoyed seeing the Cubbies win the World Series this year.He was a wonderful husband of 32 years and a loving father, grandfather, brother, son, uncle and friend to many. He will be greatly missed.A memorial gathering for family and friends will be held from 1 to 3 p.m. Saturday, December 31, 2016, at Schmidt-Haller Burial & Cremation Service.The family requests that contributions be made in his name to the American Cancer Society or to OSF Hospice.
