James E. “Gene” Guffey, age 82 of New Castle, went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday December 21, 2016 at the Waters of New Castle, surrounded by his family.
He was born January 17, 1934 in Duvall Valley, Kentucky, outside of Albany, a Son of Andrew and Lillie Guffey. He lived in New Castle most of his life and was a construction worker with Hunnicutt & Sons Construction in New Castle. He also worked for the City of New Castle and retired from there.
He loved his family and enjoyed spending time with them.
Left to cherish his memory include: his Wife of 63 years Louise Willis Guffey, four Children; Barbara Page, Sheila Boles, Mike (Amber) Guffey, and Tammy (Bill) Orcutt, ten Grandchildren; Crystal Agee, James Page, Kelly McGaughey, Andy Boles, Candice Guffey, Michael Guffey, Zackary Guffey, Madison Guffey, Billy Orcutt, and Sherri Seyfferle, nine Great Grandchildren, and several Nieces, Nephews, and Cousins.
He was preceded in death by: his Parents, one Sister, Allene Willis, one Grandson, Matthew Orcutt, two Sons-in-law Jimmie Page and Kenny Ray Boles.

Funeral will be held at 1:00 P.M. Tuesday December 27, 2016 at the funeral home with Rev. Rob White officiating. Burial will follow at Hicksite Cemetery in Greensboro, Indiana.
