Opal Irene Clark, age 94 of Chesterton, passed away on Saturday, December 24, 2016 at Porter Regional Hospital. She was born on June 12, 1922 in Barronett, WI to James L. and Emma Darthea Hensen McIlree, both of whom preceded her in death.

Opal is survived by her children, Coral (Charles) Henderson of Inverness, FL and Emmaline (Don) Steele of Union Mills, IN; her seven grandchildren: Lavaunda, Cheryl, Kenny, Kym, Mindy, Steven, and Amanda; many great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Charles Lester Clark on December 2, 1996; her son, Charles Winter Clark on November 12, 2010; her daughter, Charlotte Clark; and by all of her six siblings.

Opal was an exquisite artist who loved painting landscapes. She also enjoyed crocheting.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, December 29, 2016 at 10 a.m. at White-Love Funeral Home, 525 South Second Street, Chesterton, with Pastor Lorrayne Rizer officiating. Burial will follow at Furnessville Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, December 28, 2016 from 4 p.m. until 8.p.m. at White-Love Funeral Home.
