A butcher by trade, he worked for a time at Canada Packers in Toronto before locating in Plattsville. There he butchered for farmers and for a short time operated a butcher shop in the village. Later he worked at Woodstock Feed Company and Canada Sand Papers.
He was a member of Plattsville United Church.
Beloved husband of M Hazel Love (Hartley) of Plattsville; loving father of Sandra and her husband Bob Parchardis of Toronto, Ruth and her husband Jim Toth of Tillonsburg and Ross and his wife Sharon of Brooks, Alta. Dear grandfather of Stacey Lynn, Jamie, John, Robert, Tyhler, Chris-Ann and Sara; dear brother of Willard of Toronto, Myrtle Kipfer of New Hamburg; nephew of Iva Miller of Kitchener and Walter of Tavistock.
Rested at the Glendinning Funeral Home, Plattsville, then to Plattsville United Church where funeral service was held on Tuesday with Rev Gary Boratto officiating. Interment in Riverside Cemetery, New Hamburg.
