Husband of Dina Cerbara Hill, married Oct. 10, 1964 at St. Anthony's Catholic Church, Chester, PA.

Gerald entered the US Army in 1961. Staff Sergeant Hill began his Vietnam tour on July 1, 1968, as a tank commander with the 11th Armored Cavalry, 2nd Squadron, E Troop. He was mortally wounded in action on April 15, 1969, while serving in provence 22, South Vietnam. He died from multiple fragmentation wounds in Madigan Hospital, Tacoma, Washington, June 4, 1969.
