Passed away Saturday at Franciscan St Francis Heart Center in Indianapolis.

Son of Arista and Sadie Duchene Alward.
Married Barbara Eitnier May 28, 1960. She survives.
Also surviving are daughter Peggy Ellen Alward (Tyler) Baumgarder; grandsons Joshua (Maria) Hesler, Dregan (Kiyana) Baumgardner and Steele Baumgardner; 6 great-grandchildre; brother Connie Lee (Dee) Alward.
He was preceded in death by son Patrick Lowell Alward in 1987, sister Marie Alward Nickell and brother, Gordon Leon Alward.

Graduate of Wallace High School.

Served in the Air Force.

30 year retiree of Indiana Bell telephone company and later worked at Hillsboro M & F telephone company for 5 years.

Memberships include Trinity United Methodist Church in Crawfordsville; 50 year member of Masons # 495 in Wallace and Montgomery County Pioneer Tractor Club.

He enjoyed camping, spending time with family, and spent several years at Edinburg Texas in the winter.
He also loved his chihuahua "Dawg" who was adopted from the AWL.

Cremation was chosen.
Celebration of life noon-2pm Thursday, Dec. 29 at Hunt & Son Funeral Home.

Memorial donations to the Animal Welfare League of Montgomery County, Crawfordsville.
