Vivian was born to William Henry and Bessie (Karr) Bridges on August 4, 1920, in Enid, the youngest of three brothers and one sister, and passed away Thursday, December 22, 2016, in Enid.
Vivian graduated from Enid High School in 1938. She then attended Business College in Muskogee. Vivian met Bob Bickerstaff and they were married seven months later. After one month of marriage, Bob left for Europe, serving in World War II. He was gone for two years. Vivian worked for Metropolitan Life Insurance, and later was bookkeeper for Bickerstaff Construction Company. She was always very precise in all her work. Vivian loved to cook and can. She was an active member of Bible Baptist Church for 70 years. She was a very grateful person who appreciated people. Vivian was a very sweet and funny lady, with a quick wit and wonderful sense of humor.
Vivian is survived by her husband Bob of the home; four children: Alice Ylitalo and husband Rod, Dan Bickerstaff and wife Pam, Bill Bickerstaff and wife Tammy, all of Enid, Kristy Haws and husband Mike of Carrier; eleven grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; cousin Cathy Schoon of Rhode Island; and nephew Clay Bridges of Colorado.
She was preceded in death by her brothers, Frank, Wayne and Bill; sister Lucille; sister-in-laws, Ruby Bridges and Katherine Bridges; parents, William Henry and Bessie Bridges; and great-granddaughter Neely Ylitalo.
Memorials may be made to Bible Baptist Church or Hospice Circle of Love.
