Sandra Sue Kirk was born June 10, 1939, to Earl and Lula Mae (Dude) Hiskey Johnson, at home in rural Murray Iowa, and passed from this life on January 20, 2020, at Clarke County Hospital in Osceola, Iowa. She grew up in Murray and attended school there, graduating in 1957. Two weeks after graduation she married Wayne Kirk on June 8 at the Murray Church of Christ. They made their home north of Murray on a farm where she lived for the rest of her life. Sandra was a farm wife and caregiver. Two children, Sherry and Jeff, blessed this union.
Sandra enjoyed collecting antiques and vintage clothes. She organized many style shows in the surrounding communities which were enjoyed by all. Wayne and Sandra loved traveling and touring old mansions. She loved researching family history and was a keeper of many family stories. Sandra's kitchen was always open with the coffee pot on. Playing cards with her kids and grandchildren was one of her favorite pastimes. Some may debate whether she played with a different set of rules. She was a long-time member of the Murray Church of Christ, active in many ways, sharing her faith with many.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Wayne, and brother-in-law Ted McDowell.
Sandra is survived by her daughter, Sherry (Jim) Stuart of New Virginia, son, Jeff (Lori) Kirk of Peru, grandchildren, Nikki (Thad) Pealer of Lee Summit, MO, Joe Stuart of New Virginia, Ryan Kirk of Murray, Jill Stuart (Nathan Wickett) of New Virginia; great-grandchildren, Harper and Elle Pealer, Libby and Karlee Stuart, Gracie and Jack Kirk, Noah and Jace Wickett; great step-grandchildren, Megan and Jeff Eddy; sister-in-law, Audrey McDowell of Lorimor and brother-in-law, Larry (Martha) Kirk of Ridgeway, IA along with many other family and friends.
