-THEOPHILUS Bird: born 1839 in the Cayman Islands - died 1899 in Sullivan County, New York. According to his obituary, Theo was born in Haiti. However, it is reported that he was a few months old when the family of three arrived in Haiti in December, 1839. He was most likely born in the Cayman Islands about October 1839.
-STEPHEN Bird born 1840 - died May 1842 in Haiti, about 3 weeks after the May 7 earthquake
-ALEXANDER Bird: born Apr 18, 1842 - died May 1842, in the week following the earthquake
-LYDIA (Bird) Désprès: born c.1850 - died 1911 in North Bierley, England. (In 1861, while attending school, Lydia was living in St. Helier, Jersey with her grandmother, Jane/Jeanne Guiton, & cousin, Louisa de Jersey) Married Rev. Thomas John Désprès/Despres.
-ARTHUR Bird: born 1853/54 - died 1935 in Delaware County, New York.
Susan & her husband, Rev. Mark Baker Bird, were missionaries in Haiti. According to a letter from Rev. Bird, posted in The Wesleyan Missionary Notices, Mrs. Bird died in New York, on Dec 3, 1860. The Birds had been returning to Haiti from a trip to England. The funeral was held on Dec 5 at the Forsyth Street Methodist Episcopal Church & officiated by NY minister friends. Interment at Green-Wood Cemetery.
