THOMASVILLE--Mrs. Vivian Black Kennedy, 75, widow of Fred N. Kennedy and resident of Rt.4, High Point Road, died Sunday morning in High Point Memorial Hospital. She was born in Davidson County, September 28, 1897, a daughter of Bethlehem and Augusta Darr Black. She was educated at the Thomasville city schools and Lynchburg College, in Lynchburg, Virginia and had taught in the Davidson County schools. She was a member of Pleasant Grove United Methodist Church, the Ladies Bible Class, a member of the Thomasville Woman's Club, the Thomasville Garden Club and the Order of the Eastern Star of Thomasville, Chapter 171. Her husband died June 10, 1966.
Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Ernest R. (Dorothy) Anderson, Jr. of High Point and Mrs. Clyde C. (Hilda) of High Point; one son, F. Stuart Kennedy of Thomasville; one sister, Mrs. Early C. Leonard of Thomasville and three grandchildren.Funeral will be held Tuesday at 11 am at Pleasant Grove United Methodist Church by Rev. Ray C. Stephens.
