Jacquelyn Levada Thompson Owens, 70, of Jesup, passed away peacefully at her home on Friday, December 23, 2016 surrounded by her loving children, grandchildren and family.
A resident of Jesup for over sixty years, Mrs. Jackie was born on December 29, 1945 in Glennville, GA to the late James Jackson Thompson and Fellice Levada Purvis Thompson.
In addition to her parents, her two brothers, John Rufus Thompson and George Yancey Thompson and her former husband, David Owens, Sr., preceded her in death.
Survivors include her four children, David Owens and wife, Melissa of Odum, Debra Owens of Odum, Dana McCaffrey and husband, Jonathan of Jesup and Shree Owens of Jesup; grandchildren, Rayna Owens, Jada Bishop and husband, Clayton, Wesley Owens, Hunter Wombolt, Heather Wombolt, Holly Wombolt, Xander McCaffrey, Katelyn Kent and Madisyn Kent; two great grandchildren, Ashton Tyre and Scarlet Evans and several nieces and nephews, Jack Thompson, Jason Thompson, Karen Thompson, Yancey Thompson and Theresa Thompson.
Funeral services will be held at 12:00 noon on Monday, December 26, 2016 at Howard & Jones Funeral Home in Jesup with Reverends Dennie Waters and Scott Hickox officiating. The family will receive friends from 10:00 a.m. until the funeral hour at the funeral home.
Interment will follow in Watermelon Creek Baptist Church Cemetery in Tattnall County.
