Norma Faye Payne, 80, of Upper River Road, died Sunday, December 18, 2016, at a local nursing home. The family will greet friends from 1:00pm-2:00pm, Wednesday, December 21, 2016, at Bridges Funeral Home in Gray. Funeral services will follow at 2:00pm with Pastor Monty Fubuary officiating.
Mrs. Payne was born July 20, 1936, in Macon and had lived here her entire life. She was the daughter of the late Melvin E. Tarpley and Effie Mae Kennedy Tarpley. Mrs. Payne was a homemaker and was of the Baptist faith. She was preceded in death by a son: Randall Payne.
Mrs. Payne is survived by her daughters and sons-in-law: Regina and Cecil Copeland, Rhonda and Blake Steward and Renee and Jeff Leverette; son and daughter-in-law: Russell and Bonnie Payne; twelve grandchildren; nineteen great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers the family requests that contributions be made to help offset funeral expenses.
