MRS. EDITH SUCHANEK

The terrible plague which is making so many homes in our county desolate, claimed another victim in the person of Mrs. Edith Suchanek, wife of Andy V. Suchanek of the southwest part of the county, last Friday after nine days of illness which started with the flu and ended with pneumonia. Her husband was taken ill first and after a couple of days she was taken down. A nurse could not be secured and the young husband had to get up to care for his wife before he was able and miraculously escaped a relapse.
Edith Desney [sic] was born at David City, Nebraska,, June 21, 1900, and was 18 years, 5 months and 22 days old at the time of her death. She attended school at the Central City high school and was also a member of the Christian church. She came to Howard county with her people and it was there that she met her husband and they were married at Grand Island November 21, 1916 and soon came to Valley county to make their home.
Besides her husband she leaves her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Desney [sic] who live at Sidney, Nebraska, four sisters, Margaret, Virginia, Rose and Nora of Sidney, Nebr., and two brothers, Ray with the 'Colors' in France and Eugene of Sidney, besides a host of friends.
The remains were brought to the McLain undertaking parlors and the funeral held from there Monday morning. Fr. Hosman of the M.E. Church officiating. Interment was in the Ord cemetery.
