William Morrison was born on the 1st of March 1785 and baptized on March 13, 1785 in the Presbyterian Saint Gabriel Church, Montréal Québec Canada. The son of Allan Morrison merchant of Sorel and ''Josette'' his wife [her maiden name is not stated in William's birth record].

William Morrison died at L'Isle-aux-Allumettes (Morrison Island) in August of 1866 at 81 years old.

He retired from the American fur trade Company in 1826 and returned to Berthier, Québec Canada, where he died.

All in all, he was married four times (fathering 16 childrens). His first wife, Shaughunomonee, and second wife, Meshepeshequay, were both Ojibway Indians.

His third wife was Julia Roussain (Roussin), daughter of Eustache Roussain [Morrison’s associate and clerk].

His fourth wife was Ann Kittson. They were married on June 14, 1831 in the Anglican Christ Church of Sorel Québec Canada.

William Morrison was known among the Ojibway Indians, as White Bear or the "Little Englishman"

On the 1851 Canadian Census, William Morrison [aged 65 years old] can be found along with wife Ann Kittson [aged 43 years old] and some childrens, in Berthier Québec Canada. The couple's daughter Frances Harriett Victoria Morrison aged 12 years old is also listed with her parents.

William Morrison and Ann Kittson's daughter Frances Harriett Victoria Morrison married Charles Howard Church (1838-1873) and she has memorial # 97624941
