Robert A. Scheer, age 80 of Clare, passed away Friday, December 23, 2016 at the MidMichigan Medical Center in Midland. Robert was born the son of the late George and Pauline (Witkoske) Scheer on July 11, 1936 in Flint.

Robert had served his country in the U.S. Navy and had been a real estate broker in Clare. He was a 32nd degree Mason, being active in the John Q. Look Masonic Lodge when it was in Clare, as well as being a Shriner. Robert enjoyed belonging to the Michigan Trap Shooting Association.

Robert is survived by his son Karl (Jean) Scheer of Clare; a sister Barbara (Kent) Krantz of Clare; grandson Andrew Scheer; niece and nephews Dawn Krantz of Elwell, Donald Krantz of Macon, Georgia and David Krantz of Gold Hill, Oregon and great nieces Olivia Krantz of Macon, Georgia and Crea Krantz of Akron, Ohio.

Visitation and services will be held at the Clare Chapel of Stephenson-Wyman Funeral Home. Visitation will take place on Tuesday, December 27, 2016 from 5 to 8 P.M. with services led by Pastor Jim Young to be held on Wednesday at 1 P.M. Burial will follow in the Cherry Grove Cemetery in Clare.

Memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association.
