Retired MSGT Bobby Leon Clifton, 80, of 218 Glenwood Trail, Goldsboro, died Friday at Pitt Memorial Hospital in Greenville, NC.

Mr. Clifton, born in Sampson County, was the son of the late Leon Best Clifton and Louretha Hobbs Clifton and the widower of his first wife Patricia A. Murphy Clifton and second wife Jean Thomas Clifton.

He was retired Veteran of the United States Air Force with twenty years of service. He also retired from the Department of Defense with the Civil Service at Seymour Johnson Air Force Base Commissary with twenty years of service. He was a member of First Free Will Baptist Church of Goldsboro, NC.

He is survived by a daughter, Tammy Clifton of Los Angeles, CA; five sons, Michael Clifton of Raleigh, NC; Robert "Bob" Clifton of Lake Mary, FL; David and Ronald Clifton both of Goldsboro, NC; and Steve Clifton of Raleigh, NC; a brother, Vernon R. Clifton and wife Jo of Clinton, NC; a grandson, Mason Clifton of Colorado Springs, CO.

The family received friends 6-8 PM, Monday, December 26, 2016 at Seymour Funeral Home in Goldsboro, NC. The funeral services were held graveside 2 PM, Tuesday, December 27, 2016 at Wilmington National Cemetery in Wilmington, NC. with the Rev. Gary Bailey officiaitng.

Burial with Military Honors was made in the cemetery.
