A native of Cleveland County, she was the daughter of the late Burgan and Elizabeth Woods Grigg. She was a member of Union Baptist Church, and worked many years at Doran Mill, later retiring from Walmart Distribution Center. She was supportive with cancer survivors, where she participated in Relay for Life and Pink Tea. The family would like to thank Drs. Laney and Thompson, and their staff, and hospice of Cleveland County for all their support and care.
She is survived by her son, Jason Newton and wife Bobbie of Waco; six brothers, Garland Grigg and wife Nancy, Boyd Grigg, Carmie Grigg and wife Dorothy, Billy Grigg and wife Muriel, all of Polkville, Hugh Grigg and wife Nancy of Double Shoals, and Heyward Grigg and wife Ella of Cherryville; granddaughter, Taylor Newton of Waco; niece, Lynda Webber and husband Scott of Cherryville; great nieces, Ashley Webber of Chesney, and Cary Webber of Cherryville; and many other nieces and nephews; and her canine companion, Lulu.
