A funeral service for Johnny Wayne Melton, age 68, of the Dialville community, is scheduled at 2 o’clock in the afternoon Thursday, December 29, 2016 at Autry Funeral Home Chapel in Jacksonville with Rev. Jim Slocum officiating. He will be laid to rest at Rocky Springs Cemetery.
Mrs. Melton passed away Thursday, December 22, 2016 in Jacksonville.
Johnny was born January 7, 1948 in Cookville, Texas to Johnny and Sybil (Hunter) Melton.
He was employed as a truck driver and was a Baptist.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Robert Lee Melton.
Left to cherish his memory are his daughters, Jenny Rebecca Melton and Pamela Melton both of Jasper; a son, Patrick Delvin of Jasper; brother, Raymond Melton of Dialville; sisters, Geneva Graham and husband Donald of Zavala, Juanita Boyle and husband Bob of Kingwood, Patricia Witt and husband Larry of Houston, Linda Sherrod and husband Carroll of Bauxite, AR, Ruby Ramirez and husband Roger of Pearland, Sherry Childress and husband Larry of Longview. He is also survived by two grandchildren; Jacob Walton and John Delvin; and a host of nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be Gilbert Melton, David Graham, Br Bryan Boyle, Perry Allen Jacks, Spike Witt and Matt Childress. Honorary pallbearers will be Michael Sherrod, Jason Sherrod and John Witt.
Visitation will begin on Wednesday, December 28, 2016 and friends are cordially invited to visit with Johnny’s family from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. at Autry Funeral Home, Jacksonville.
