Obituary: GEORGE WESTRAY BUNN, JR., SPRING HOPE--George Westray Bunn, Jr. (G.W.), 96, died Wednesday, Sept. 17, 2003.Funeral service will be held 2 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 20, 2003, at First Baptist Church in Spring Hope, with the Rev. Greg Anderson officiating. Burial will follow at Oakdale Cemetery, Spring Hope. The family will receive friends one hour before the service at the church. G.W. was born in Spring Hope, May 22, 1907, to the late George W. and Katherine Owen Bunn. He was the last remaining of five children. Mr. Bunn was owner-operator of Bunn Dry Cleaners for 43 years before his retirement in 1974.
Mr. Bunn was preceded in death by his wife of over 70 years, Eugenia Bergeron Bunn in 1999.
Survivors include son, George Westray Bunn, III, and wife, Barbara, of Rocky Mount; and daughter, Anne Bridgers Bunn Christian and husband, Dr. Joseph Christian, of Greensboro. Also surviving are grandchildren, Martha Bunn, David Bunn, Kathy Bender, Terry Christian, Paul Hodges, Steve Christian; and eight great-grandchildren. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the First Baptist Church, Hwy. 64, Spring Hope, N.C. 27882. Condolences may be sent to [email protected].
