Christine C. Aguilar-Ruiz, 82, passed away Thursday, December 15, 2016 in St. Johns. She was born April 29, 1934 in St. Johns.
Although plagued by things in life that would break most spirits, she held together by the grace of God! She loved with all of her heart, without conditions or judgment.
Christine is survived by her husband, Geronimo Ruiz, St. Johns; sons, Peter Aguilar, Phoenix; Reuben (Cheryl) Aguilar, Mesa; Carlos (Jeannie) Aguilar, Avondale; daughter, Debbie Aguilar, Lakeside; step-children, Daniel (Lupe) Aguilar, Belen, New Mexico; Yolanda (Martinez) Young, Ventura, California; 16 grandchildren and 18 great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her siblings, Abran, Matiana, Joe, Rebecca, Eddie, and Vito “Albert” Chavez, Nelly, Frank, Vina, Johnny and Mary Lucero, parents, Avelino and Josefa Lucero, parents, Luis and Chona Chavez, first husband, Robert Aguilar and daughter, Shirley Ann Aguilar.
A Viewing was held Thursday, December 22, 2016 at 5:30 p.m. at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, St. Johns, with Rosary following at 7:00 p.m. A Funeral Mass was held Friday, December 23, 2016 at 10:00 a.m. also at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, St. Johns. Interment will be held at a later date.
