German Teacher, Organist, Poet, and Composer. His most widely known work, "O Tannenbaum", was based on a 16th-century Silesian folk song by Melchior Franck. He is also known for his account of the death of Johann Christian Woyzeck (de) in 1824. Anschütz worked as a teacher in Leipzig for 50 years.
